There is so much equipment out there on the internet, do you need it? Is it worth it? Which ones should you get? It is really tempting to go and buy a load of stuff because it looks like it will help with your workout regime but it is also quite daunting isn't it?
So, before you go buying loads of equipment that you end up using once, here are my three go-to items that defo make home workouts more doable, bearable, exciting and varied.
Workout mat
Yup, seems pretty obvious doesn't it? It is not totally necessary if you have a carpet or a large rug (that doesn't slide around) but, if like me, you have wooden floors then it is a must, otherwise those bony parts of your body will be screaming at you for mercy!
Resistance bands
These flexible friends are flexible in more ways than one. You can do SO many things with resistance bands. I have a set of smaller circular ones (ideal for holding around your thighs for lower body exercises) and a set of larger ones too with various handles that attach onto the ends. (these links are to show you an example).
Dumbbells
It is well worth investing in a set or two of dumbbells as they can be included in so many workouts to increase the intensity. If you are able to have a range of weights then that is even better! But one medium set is better than none at all.
So there you have it.
If you have these items and are still stuck for ideas, then why not head over to my YouTube channel and have a gander through the videos where there are plenty of exercises to keep you going.
